The culinary extravaganza returned with a bang as The Great Food Truck Race Season 16 premiered last June 18, 2023, introducing an exciting lineup of pro-teams and rookie teams, who hit the road and served up mouthwatering delights for foodies. Representing diverse regions and cuisines, the season proved to be a thrilling ride, filled with surprises, creativity, and intense competition.

Pro-Teams:

Da Bald Guy (Honolulu, Hawaii)

Hailing from the beautiful islands of Hawaii, Da Bald Guy brings a fusion of local flavors and international influences. The team, consisting of Missy Rabaino, James Martin, and Ali’i Pukahi, is known for their innovative dishes and unique spin on traditional Hawaiian cuisine. With a winning combination of passion, skill, and island charm, they are ready to make their mark in the competition.

D’Pura Cepa (Miami, Florida)

Representing the vibrant culinary scene of Miami, Florida, D’Pura Cepa is a force to be reckoned with. Comprising Janshanic Santos, Louis Del Rio Rubio, and Jose Carnot, this team specializes in Latin-inspired dishes with a contemporary twist. Their bold flavors and artistic presentations have earned them a dedicated fan base, and they are determined to conquer the local food truck race.

Lisa’s Creperie (Atlanta, Georgia)

From the heart of Georgia comes Lisa’s Creperie, led by Lisa Thiffault, Miranda Moore, and Ally Marlow. This team is all about delicate, delectable crepes catering to sweet and savory cravings. With their eye-catching truck and masterful techniques, Lisa’s Creperie is set to impress the judges and charm foodies across the nation.

Paisani (Boston, Massachusetts)

Representing the historic city of Boston, Paisani is a pro-team that brings a taste of Italian street food to the competition. Composed of Tommy Southwick, Ryan Palmer, and Matthew Minichiello, they are known for their authentic Italian dishes made with love and expertise. With a warm and welcoming demeanor, Paisani is determined to win hearts along the food truck journey.

Rookie Teams:

2 Girls Jamaican Tacos (Brooklyn, New York)

Taking a bold and flavorful approach, 2 Girls Jamaican Tacos from Brooklyn, New York, is here to showcase the best of Jamaican cuisine. This team, led by Bri Labossiere, Shelly Flash, and Elijah McPhie, adds a Caribbean twist to classic tacos, creating a unique and exciting culinary experience.

 

4 Hens Creole Kitchen (St. Louis, Missouri)

Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, 4 Hens Creole Kitchen pays homage to their Creole heritage with a fusion of flavors. Led by Brittany Artis, Zendrix Berndt-White, and Brandi Artis, this team’s dishes reflect a rich cultural heritage, and they are ready to wow the judges with their authentic Creole delights.

 

Khana (Detroit, Michigan)

Representing the Motor City, Khana is a rookie team that brings the diverse flavors of India to the forefront. Led by Maryam Khan, Jake Nielsen, and Al Jane, they offer a tantalizing array of traditional Indian dishes with a modern twist. Khana is determined to make an impression and show the world the magic of Indian cuisine.

 

The Block (Indianapolis, Indiana)

The Block Food Truck in Indianapolis is a culinary gem that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Established by a dynamic trio – Carl Harris, Terry Anthony, and Crystal Kilgore – The Block brings a burst of flavor to the streets of Indianapolis. With a passion for crafting exceptional comfort food and gourmet delights, their diverse menu caters to a wide range of palates.

 

The Easy Vegan (Denver, Colorado)

In a culinary world that celebrates plant-based options, The Easy Vegan is a rookie team from Denver, Colorado, led by Taylor Herbert, Matt Heikkila, and Alexi Mandolini. They aim to prove that vegan food can be delicious, innovative, and accessible to all, as they embark on this exciting food truck adventure.
